Mountain Glen

Our Vision

A diverse and involved community in a peaceful, attractive, and environmentally responsible neighborhood with growing property values.

Our Mission

To protect the investments of our homes and the quality of life in our community.

In 1994, A. Mountain Corp, Inc. and developer, Roy B. Amason, along with Jordan Consulting Engineers P.C., went into agreement to create a single-family subdivision which would provide meaningful recreation and open space to benefit its homeowners. This site would be located within an affordable and prosperous Henrico County community located in the then, Brookland magisterial district. The original plans were to develop the site into a recreational park; however, the plans for a single-family development were instead approved.

In that same year, Henrico County Board of Supervisors granted Mr. Amason’s request for the project. As part of the project agreement, it was determined that the site would be named Mountain Glen, and would contain lands identified as Chesapeake Bay Preservation areas, and that the subdivision would have an “Association” to care for all common areas. The project was intended to encourage originality and ingenuity in overall site design to promote improved living environments; preservation of public and private open space to serve recreational needs or to further environmental, scenic or historic preservation purposes. This included protecting floodplains; water quality, particularly within Chesapeake Bay Preservation areas, and tree preservation to provide environmental, health, economic, and social benefits to the community. The project development was broken into three distinct areas, each corresponding to the developer’s completion of the homes; separate covenants were established for each section. Section one, the first to be completed, includes 50 households; section two, 62; and section three, the last section opened, has 47 homes. As part of the project requirement., streets within the community were named as follows: Jon Page Court, Pinkerton Place, Park Green Way, Nature Trail, Scenic Place, Park Tree Place, Mountain Glen Parkway, Dawson Mill Court, and Renay Court. Following several business meetings and finalizing agreements, The Mountain Glen Homeowners’ Association, Inc. Charter was officially transferred from the developer, Wilton Development, to the homeowners on May 22, 2001 through the Virginia State Corporation Commission.
